Do we like negotiating with Twitch?

Twitch is decent to negotiate with but they don’t usually go as high as Amazon as they are pretty well-staffed. Though, the pay scales at Amazon and Twitch are the same. Amazon might just be more willing to go up than Twitch.

Twitch's compensation structure is fairly standard. Two specific things to note: 1) no cash performance bonuses 2) refreshers are not offered at most levels.

Twitch performance bonus targets

Twitch doesn't offer cash performance bonuses. When comparing your Twitch offer to other competing offers, you should factor those performance bonuses into your total comp calculation.

Twitch's approach to remote pay

Twitch is pretty remote friendly. As for remote pay, there is a discount on the basis of location, something that is pretty standard in the industry.

Twitch's relocation package

As Twitch is pretty remote friendly, there might not be many instances where you are required to move. However, if that situation arises, you should shoot for a minimum of $10k+.

Most negotiable component

Twitch's most negotiable component is equity, which is pretty standard in the industry. While base salary and sign on bonus are negotiable, the most increase is always seen at the equity level.

Does Twitch require written offers?

Twitch doesn't usually require written competing offers when negotiating but will ask for additional information like location, breakdown, etc.

Will Twitch go above band if I have a strong competing offer?

Twitch can go above band, but it does not happen very often. If you want an above band offer, your interview performance needs to be excellent and your negotiations also need to be smart.

Is my hiring manager relationship important at Twitch?

It is always beneficial to have a strong relationship with your hiring manager. However, we have not seen hiring managers have a lot of sway in Twitch salary negotiations.

Does Twitch pay well compared to Roblox?

No. Roblox pays a lot better than Twitch. For the Twitch L5 equivalent, Roblox’s base can go up to $215k/year and the equity can go up to $190k/year. On the other hand, base at Twitch can go up to $193k/year and equity can go up to $94k/year.

What kind of benefits does Twitch offer?

Twitch offers unlimited paid time off. Other than that, there is nothing particularly unique in terms of benefits. It's a better idea to focus your negotiation on base, equity, and sign on bonus.
